1967, Keith Allison. Mark Lindsay/Keith Allison on a Raiders album. This version with Paul Revere and the Raiders, known for wearing Revolutionary War attire, is better than the one by Allison below, but Allison wrote the song. At least on this song, Paul Revere and the Raiders almost sound like The Band with Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, et al.
1968, Jimmy Martin. This is a pretty great version too. What a pitch in this man's voice.
