Highlight of My Weekend Kick-Off


Attended a "Kick-off" in Ventura on March 26, 2016.  Bleh.  Except for the few gentlemen I met, the "Kick-Off" was a waste of time.  But this restaurant was fantastic.  From the outside, it looks like any other franchised restaurant.  But it's privately owned with a subtle, old-fashioned interior.  But that's not why I am writing about it.  I am writing about this place because the food is fantastic.  I ordered a carnitas dish with egg.  Boy was it good.  The meat, which was at the bottom of the dish, had marinated in its own sauce, creating a savory meat dish.  The fruit side dish was potent with flavors.  No where have I ever tasted fruit so fresh.  The strawberries rang up my nose.  The cut bananas infused my senses.  It was not only bizarre; it was wonderful.
