As well as Tony Curtis, the standout performances come from Gilbert Roland & Marisa Pavan, as well as Kathleen Freeman, who makes the most of a couple of scenes.
Plenty of San Francisco location work, and supporting roles for Jay C Flippen & Ted De Corsia. Liked Peggy Maley too.
The Midnight Story, 1957.

Ever since seeing Tony Curtis' 1959 Some Like It Hot and the 1965 The Great Race, I'd always been a fan delighted by his work. From Trapeze to Spartacus to the 1957 Sweet Smell of Success, a biting satire on ambition, power, manipulation, corruption in the media, and moral decay with snappy dialogue by Clifford Odets, everything that Curtis did was so versatile and so great.
At the 4:29 mark, he references the Cherry Lane Theater.
At the 9:57 mark, Curtis, 1925-2010, references the Sherry-Netherland Hotel.
