Mom loved her kitchen, her pink tiled counter top, her latest model Kenmore refrigerator, her baskets and earthenware on display over the top of her kitchen cabinets. She loved her dining room table, the table cloth which she'd replace almost once a year, and she also loved her dining room painting. One was of food on a table. Another was a Van Gogh that I'd purchased for her and Catherine framed. But there was one thing that she rarely mentioned but that I could tell that she treasured, and that was her flatware. The set was manufactured by Stanley Jacobs. The style was Danesmore [here, here, and here]. Made in Japan, the pattern of this flatware consists of roses at the neck and the foot of the utensil. Stanley Roberts is also made in Korea, but the Korean brand is made with flimsier stainless steel. So you'll want the Japanese brand, I am sure.
